Anatoly Malykhin responds to Arjan Bhullar’s latest post from backstage at ONE on Prime Video 5

'Sladkiy' Anatoly Malykhin recently captured his second world title in ONE Championship. Headlining against Reinier de Ridder at ONE on Prime Video 5, the Russian athlete earned a first-round stoppage to capture the ONE light heavyweight world title.

Russia's Malykhin is still the ONE interim heavyweight world champion. The heavyweight king, 'Singh' Arjan Bhullar, appears ready to unify the titles. After Malykhin's victory, Bhullar shared on Instagram:

"He's not a 2 weight champ [ONE Championship] he's now the light heavyweight champ. It's easy to punch out a BJJ guy with 0 takedown ability. He did what he was supposed to. Let me do what I'm supposed to. I was told March earlier this week. Still waiting on the paperwork... "

Anatoly Malykhin heard this and responded:

"Ooooh, Chicken. Blah blah blah."

Anatoly Malykhin calls Arjan Bhullar "weak"

The ONE interim heavyweight world champion sat behind his newly earned ONE light heavyweight championship belt and took questions from the media after his impressive knockout win at ONE on Prime Video 5.

Anatoly Malykhin was asked about Arjan Bhullar, saying in the post-fight interview:

"He’s just weak. He doesn’t deserve to be in ONE Championship, because it just happens every single time, so I’m gonna do the next fight at 93 kilos.”

'Singh' Arjan Bhullar was crowned the ONE heavyweight world champion in 2021 and has yet to defend his throne. Much of this time was spent in contract negotiations or injuries. The two had agreed on a fight this year, but Bhullar unfortunately had to drop out.

However, the chairman and CEO of ONE Championship, Chatri Sityodtong, thinks Bhullar is scared. In the post-fight press conference after ONE on Prime Video 5, Chatri explained:

“I’m trying to be respectful but I do believe that Arjan is scared. There’s a million excuses why he’s not ready to face Anatoly. I mean I would be scared too – he has better wrestling than me, he hits harder than me ... After tonight’s performance I think bar none Anatoly would knock any heavyweight out in the world."
