Roberto Soldic has reflected on his first-ever professional MMA win. Soldic will make the walk for his 24th professional MMA fight at ONE on Prime Video 5. ‘Robocop’ had a long journey before signing with ONE Championship, including winning titles in four other promotions, with KSW being the most notable.
During an interview with ONE, the former two-division KSW world champion detailed his first pro-MMA fight in October 2014 by saying:
“I won the fight. I went in the cage straight away. I never sparred before, and straight away I saw that I can strike. The guy was very dangerous... I didn’t give up and then in the second round, he got out and he tried to take me down, but I escaped and went to ground-and-pound. I caught him with a left hand in the head and I saw that I hurt him, and I continued the ground-and-pound, then the referee stopped the fight. And my career started.”

Soldic’s journey has led him to his ONE debut on December 2. ‘Robocop’ is taking on undefeated Russian grappler Murad Ramazanov. The welterweight showdown will open the main card of ONE on Prime Video 5, which can be watched for free by Amazon Prime subscribers in North America and Canada.
Roberto Soldic believes he will perform better with ONE Championship’s hydration tests
ONE Championship has implemented a pre-fight protocol where fighters must weigh in and take a hydration test to ensure they aren’t cutting too much weight. Now that Roberto Soldic has joined ONE, he’s thrilled to be using their hydration tests. During an interview with The MMA Superfan, Soldic had this to say:
“It was a good move that I go to ONE Championship because the weight cut is like three-four kilos so it's a good hydration test. I think I will perform better. I am very strong. I feel very good now because I can eat everything that I want.”
If Roberto Soldic improves from his KSW run, the ONE welterweight and middleweight divisions could be in trouble. ‘Robocop’ may be fighting for a title sooner rather than later, considering that ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong said the winner of Soldic and Murad Ramazanov will likely fight welterweight world champion Christian Lee next.
