Donald Trump finally made a much-anticipated appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience. However, his three-hour sitdown with Joe Rogan on episode #2219 of the podcast has already yielded a questionable moment where he made a factually incorrect statement.
As the pair conversed, the former 45th president of the United States described legendary former 16th American president Abraham Lincoln as suffering from depression, which Trump claimed was due to Lincoln losing his son Thomas, nicknamed 'Tad.'

This, however, is incorrect, as Lincoln died in 1865, while 'Tad' died in 1871, six years after his father. Trump may have mistaken 'Tad' for one of Lincoln's two other sons who did die before their father. Those would be Edward, who died in 1850, and William, who died in 1860.
However, Rogan's reluctance to correct Trump, when he usually has his producer Jamie Vernon fact-check guest statements, raised eyebrows.
On X, an account shared a clip of the moment and fans were quick to pounce on it. One fan pointed out that Rogan never corrected Trump.
"And Rogan said nothing"
Some fans though, speculated that Trump may very well have mistaken 'Tad' for another of Lincoln's aforementioned sons.
"He was referring to Lincoln's son Willie who was just 11 when he died in 1862."
Others expressed dismay over Rogan's disinterest in fact-checking Trump's statement.
"Joe Rogan usually has his team realtime fact check stuff but I guess they were off tonight."
One fan was even vitriolic.
"What a f***ing idiot."
A collage of fan reactions can be seen below:
Regardless, Trump and Rogan will likely declare the former's appearance as a success, especially in the wake of Kamala Harris' reported initial interest and subsequent disinterest in appearing on the JRE podcast.
Donald Trump previously spoke about appearing on Joe Rogan's podcast
Due to Joe Rogan's past praise of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the relationship between the UFC commentator and Donald Trump briefly soured. However, on episode #442 of the Lex Fridman Podcast, Trump downplayed their issues.
"I don't think there was any tension and I've always liked him, but I don't know him. I only see him when I walk into the arena with Dana [White] and I shake his hand. I see him there and I think he's good at what he does, but I don't know about doing his podcast. I mean, I guess I'd do it, but I haven't been asked and I'm not asking him."
