UFC star Conor McGregor has been dropping subtle clues about a potential return to fighting ever since he recovered from his leg break in the third fight against Dustin Poirier in July 2021. Most recently, he posted a picture of himself after a training session, which caught the attention of Andrew Tate's brother Tristan.
McGregor took to X to drop a picture in a high guard stance from a training session. Tristan Tate reacted to the picture by writing:

The Tate brothers, in the past, have publicly endorsed McGregor to run for the presidency of Ireland. 'The Notorious' even hinted at the possibility of running for the presidency, citing tragic events such as the stabbing of three children and the increasingly hostile atmosphere in the country as key motivators for considering such a move.
The Tate brothers expressed their support, with Tristan even pledging to move to Ireland if McGregor becomes president.
As for McGregor's return to fighting, the former UFC two-division champion claimed that he's working on a potential fight against Dan Hooker in February 2025. Michael Chandler, who was scheduled to take on McGregor in June, remains unfazed by the verbal agreement between them, claiming that the Irishman's decisions are often spontaneous.
He remains confident that the UFC would prefer to see him face McGregor instead and views his upcoming fight against Charles Oliviera as a fight for the No.1 contender spot.
When Andrew Tate shed light on a potential fight against Conor McGregor
Andrew Tate shed light on a potential fight against UFC star Conor McGregor during an interview with Rob Moore in 2022. Tate admitted that although a bout between him and McGregor would attract a lot of attention and generate significant revenue, he would only be interested in fighting McGregor if there were personal tensions to fuel his motivation.
Tate recognized McGregor’s UFC credentials and hinted that he’d prefer to fight, 'True Geordie' rather than the Irishman. Speaking about the potential fight, Tate said:
"That’s an interesting one, I guess. I mean he is still in his prime, I’m a lot bigger than him. He is very good, very capable. We would certainly have a lot of good trash talk. It would make a lot of money. But again I would need a personal problem with him to fight him...I have nothing against Conor, kind of like the guy so there would have to be a good reason.”
