Angela Lee feels a lot more relieved seeing her husband, Bruno Pucci, looking healthier and stronger at featherweight.
After a two-year hiatus to focus on fatherhood, ‘Puccibull’ Bruno Pucci returns to the circle to face Ukrainian finisher Kirill Gorobets at ONE 163 this Saturday, November 19.
It’s an understatement to say that the last few years have been rough for Pucci. Following a series of injuries, surgeries, and difficult weight cuts, the Singapore-Brazilian athlete feels like he’s come into his own now that he’s back to his original weight class in the promotion.
His wife and the ONE women’s atomweight world champion, Angela Lee, also agreed that moving up was the best decision her husband could’ve made.

‘Unstoppable’ told the South China Morning Post (SCMP):
“Definitely. When he dropped to 145 last time, he was like a skeleton because he was already so lean. For me, seeing him this now as his wife makes me feel a lot better. Of course it’s always tough, I know how it is cutting weight and we both know the struggles. But yeah, this time it’s a lot healthier so I’m glad to see that.”
Bruno Pucci faces his toughest opponent yet in Kirill Gorobets. Returning to the circle with tough back-to-back losses at bantamweight, the two-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) world champion hopes to redeem himself back at featherweight and get back onto the winning column.
Standing opposite him on Saturday will be Gorobets, who is coming off of a debut loss against former two-division world champion Martin Ngyuen this year.
Prior to his debut, the Ukrainian was on a nine-fight run, finishing opponents with submissions and technical knockouts. So, it’s going to be a very compelling fight to see how well they match up in the circle.

Bruno Pucci thinks Angela Lee won her last fight against Xiong Jing Nan at ONE on Prime Video 2
Bruno Pucci shared his thoughts about Angela Lee’s last outing against reigning ONE strawweight world champion Xiong Jing Nan.
Despite the controversial loss, Pucci believes Angela won a lot of new fans with her perseverance and mental toughness after being knocked down by the champion in the first round.
In the same interview, the 32-year-old stalwart said:
“I told her, a lot of guys including me, like you’re not able to come back you know, and she came back and in my eyes she won that fight. But again, despite the results, I’m extremely proud of her.”
Angela Lee won’t be returning to the ring this year, but she hinted at defending her world title a few more times in the new year.
A fourth showdown against Xiong Jing Nan is not on the cards at the moment, so Lee is looking forward to fighting new blood in the top rankings.
