ONE X was an event that delivered on the hype, especially its main event between Angela Lee and Stamp Fairtex.
Two of the promotion's biggest stars met in the final fight of the 10th anniversary event and the bout itself was worthy of the occasion. Named as ONE Championship’s best MMA fight of 2022, this contest had everything.
The stakes were already huge as ‘Unstoppable’ Angela Lee looked to return to competition after giving birth to her daughter with a defense of her women’s atomweight world championship.
In Lee’s absence a new contender had arrived in the division following the atomweight Grand Prix, which Stamp Fairtex won convincingly.

During the fight, it’s billing as a striker vs. grappler matchup played out in front of our eyes. Stamp managed to hurt the champion on the feet before being taken down and needing to showcase her grappling improvements.
After having success on the floor in the first round, Angela Lee once again took Stamp down and was able to secure the submission after finding out just how dangerous a striker her opponent is.
Whilst Angela may have defended her title and proven that she hasn’t lost a step by being out of competition, Stamp proved a lot of people wrong by producing a competitive fight.
It was a great contest that showcased both women’s skill sets and heart.

Stamp Fairtex believes she can knock out Angela Lee in a potential rematch
After their incredible fight at ONE X, there may still be unfinished business between Angela Lee and Stamp Fairtex.
Following her unsuccessful bid to become a double champion, Angela Lee will now re-focus her attention on keeping hold of her atomweight world championship. Whilst her next fight could potentially be an incredible fourth meeting with rival Xiong Jing Nan, who now holds two wins over her, Lee must also be aware of Stamp Fairtex.
After being so close to finishing the champion at ONE X, Stamp is desperate to get that fight back and put into practice the things that she learned the first time around.
She told Sportskeeda MMA:
“I felt really bad [that I didn’t get the knockout]. I knew she was scared of the body shots, so that’s what I went after. After fighting her the first time, I know that if I fought her again, I can knock her out and I can win. Because I know how she fights now, I’ve experienced it.”
