Anissa Meksen loves to test herself against the best in the world and admits she's still interested in a possible showdown with Allycia Hellen Rodrigues. 'C18' recently made a permanent move to Phuket Fight Club in Thailand, the same gym that also houses the reigning atomweight Muay Thai world champion.
Despite now training under the same roof, Meksen admits she's been steering clear of the Brazilian mom-champ, knowing they could still share the Circle somewhere down the line.
The French-Algerian technician revealed in an interview with the South China Morning Post:
"When I signed with ONE, my goal is to fight her, of course, when she had the belt."

However, the 36-year-old is currently focused on claiming 26 pounds of gold in kickboxing and likely won't return to Muay Thai for the foreseeable future. She's putting a super fight with Rodrigues on hold, at least for now. Anissa Meksen added:
"But right now, it’s not my goal, so it’s like this."
An inaugural women's strawweight kickboxing queen will be crowned this coming Friday when Meksen locks horns with Jackie Buntan.
ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug will air live in US Primetime from Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium on Nov. 8. This star-studded spectacle is free of charge for Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
Anissa Meksen says Jackie Buntan's style only works when she's the aggressor
Anissa Meksen has observed that Jackie Buntan's past opponents were too passive, which allowed the Filipina-American heavy-hitter to set up her fast punch combinations.
With this knowledge in hand, the muti-time kickboxing champion won't make the same mistake and promised to force Buntan to retreat.
'C18' told SCMP MMA:
"She doesn’t like pressure. She’s good when she’s moving forward, but that’s it."
