Johan Estupinan is adamant no revenge arc is happening in his matchup against Johan Ghazali at ONE 170.

The two rising stars will collide in a crucial flyweight Muay Thai matchup at the stacked ONE 170 card on Jan. 24 at Impact Arena.

While Estupinan's bout against Ghazali already has the lingering storyline of two young phenoms taking each other for further glory, the lore between the pair goes deeper than the match itself.

Estupinan holds a win over Ghazali's older brother Elias in the amateur Muay Thai circuit, a result that has clawed on 'Jojo's' psyche for a few years.

Ghazali has since been determined to avenge his older brother and take Estupinan out in their pivotal showdown in Bangkok.

Johan Estupinan, though, promised that Ghazali wouldn't do such a thing.

He told ONE Championship in an interview:

"Another brother must be born. Another brother must be born so that he can also look for revenge and I could defeat him. Make sure the third brother looks for revenge too because ‘Jojo’ won’t accomplish it."

Estupinan catapulted onto the world stage the moment he made his debut under the ONE Championship banner against Kouta Omori in May 2024.

The Colombian spitfire then amassed a perfect 4-0 promotional record, 26-0 overall, with knockout wins over Omori, Sean Climaco, and Zakaria El Jamari.

Ghazali, meanwhile, has an impressive 6-1 slate in ONE Championship and has knocked out Padetsuk Fairtex, Tai Sor Jor Piek Uthai, Temirlan Bekmurzaev, Edgar Tabares, and Josue Cruz.

Johan Ghazali reveals his older brother Elias has been helping him in preparation for Johan Estupinan

Johan Ghazali knew that if there was someone who could help him crack Johan Estupinan, it was his older brother Elias.

The older Ghazali brother faced off against Estupinan in the amateurs but unfortunately fell short against 'Panda Kick'.

Ghazali now has a chance to achieve what his older brother failed to do and take out Estupinan at ONE 170.

In his virtual media day, Ghazali admitted that he and his brother often brainstormed with each other to come up with a game plan to stop Estupinan's run:

"Yeah, yeah. We talk about this all the time. We're always talking about a good game plan or a good strategy to fight Estupinan," said Johan Ghazali.
