Anshul Jubli of India looked to avenge the loss of his compatriot Pawan Maan Singh when he took on Jeka Saragih of Indonesia at the Road of UFC lightweight finale.

The Road to UFC was a tournament organized by the promotion to scout for Asian MMA talent. After six episodes featuring the quarter-finals and semi-finals, the Road to UFC finals took place on the preliminary card of UFC Vegas 68 which featured heavyweights Derrick Lewis and Serghei Spivak in the headliner.

Although Jeka Saragih came out as the early aggressor, he was quickly taken down and controlled by Anshul Jubli until the round ended.

'King of Lions' went on to score another early takedown in round 2 and started landing some serious damage this time around. Jubli battered Saragih until his shots went unanswered for over a minute, forcing the referee to step in at 3:11 of round 2. The 27-year-old became the second Indian-born fighter to earn a UFC contract after Bharat Khandare.

Anshul Jubli went in with the intent to dominate

Anshul Jubli has previously told Sportskeeda MMA that overconfidence is his superpower. 'King of Lions' maintained the same demeanor going into his Road to UFC finale clash against Jeka Saragih, claiming to be under no pressure.

Despite Saragih's reputation as a KO artist, Anshul Jubli considered him to be less skilled than his last opponent Kyung Pyo Kim whom he defeated in the semi-final. Planning to dominate right from the opening bell, the Indian fighter said in a recent interview with Sportskeeda MMA:

"The gameplan is simple. I'm going there to dominate the fight... from the first minute of the fight. I'll try to break Jeka Saragih until he collapses. That's the plan. I'll win the fight inside three rounds." h/t Sportskeeda MMA
