Anthony Joshua reacted to Oleksandr Usyk defeating Tyson Fury in the highly anticipated rematch on Dec. 21.
Although Fury's strategy to keep Usyk off with his jab proved effective initially, Usyk managed to reverse the momentum with superior boxing and pressure. The fight was close, but Usyk's high output and body punches ultimately secured him the victory as all three judges scored the contest 116-112 in his favor.
Former heavyweight champion and Usyk's ex-rival Joshua gave a one-word reaction to the Ukrainian victory in his Instagram story:
"[Ukraine flag] Respect."

Joshua and Usyk have faced each other twice in heavyweight title fights. Usyk won both matches by unanimous decision. The Ukrainian boxer won the WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO titles from Joshua in their first fight in September 2021. He successfully defended them in their August 2022 rematch.
Famed boxing coach Teddy Atlas shares his thoughts on a potential Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua clash
The matchup between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is one of the most anticipated heavyweight boxing contests yet to happen.
Fury suffered his first professional boxing defeat against Oleksandr Usyk in their undisputed heavyweight title fight in May. The recent loss in the rematch against Usyk marked the Brit's second consecutive defeat. Meanwhile, Joshua is coming off a devastating fifth-round knockout loss against Daniel Dubois in the IBF heavyweight title fight in September.
In a recent interview with Radio Rahim of Seconds Out, renowned boxing coach Teddy Atlas was asked to share his thoughts on how a fight between Fury and Joshua would unfold at this point of their careers. Atlas replied:
"I think that Fury is probably more versatile, he probably has more dimensions to him. Joshua is a better puncher, I think. Setting himself for one good shot... I think that would be a good fight because both guys are coming off losses, both guys are coming off where they've both lost a little piece of themselves. So, it, kind of, evens out."
That said, Atlas believes Joshua has an edge in physical ability due to his age. However, he implied that the brutal knockout loss against Dubois might have negatively affected Joshua's mental strength.
