Tyson Fury's unexpected retirement from the sport of boxing has not caused concern amongst the camp of Anthony Joshua. Following Fury's second defeat to Oleksandr Usyk on Dec. 21, there were suggestions that the former WBC champion may clash with 'AJ' next.
Joshua's longtime promoter, Eddie Hearn, has pursued a fight between his client and 'The Gypsy King' for several years. Despite the recent losses to Usyk, Hearn remains confident that Fury vs. Joshua is the biggest fight in boxing.
Considering that this was not the first time that the 36-year-old has announced his retirement, Hearn did not appear convinced that 'The Gypsy King' had called time on his career for good.
The Matchroom Boxing chairman was recently interviewed by iFL TV, where he said:

"Listen, one, we don't really take it too seriously. Two, if it is serious, there's nothing we can do about it anyway. What do you think goes on? You think Joshua phones me up, 'Ed! Ed! Have you seen the news, mate?!' He's not that kind of guy... Not one [text from Joshua]. You can't take anything Fury says about that kind of stuff. He could have been doing it because he's got the ump. He could have been doing it for some attention. He could have been doing it because it's true."

Tyson Fury's manager shares his thoughts following the former champion's retirement
Tyson Fury's manager Spencer Brown has taken a slightly different stance from that of Eddie Hearn regarding the former WBC champion's recent retirement announcement. Having previously called time on his career, there is a hint of 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf' when it comes to his latest retirement call.
But having secured mega-paydays following consecutive bouts with Oleksandr Usyk as part of the Riyadh Season boxing events, Fury's manager believes he may have finally come to the end of his career.
In a recent interview with Boxing King Media, Brown said:
"I've been in a bit of shock all morning. I've talked to him, he's made the decision himself... He's obviously been thinking about it overnight. I only spoke to him yesterday so he's thought about it overnight. He's a family man and he's probably just had enough, that's it. He's made a lot of money."
