Anthony Smith details the "experience" he's providing Jamahal Hill ahead of his first shot at UFC gold

After the UFC scrapped their plans to fight each other, Anthony Smith has been helping Jamahal Hill get into shape for his title fight next month. He has detailed exactly how he can help during each training session with the title challenger.

Following Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev's draw for the vacant light heavyweight title, the UFC decided to go in a different direction and book Glover Teixeira vs. 'Sweet Dreams' for the belt instead. The change was welcomed by the knockout artist, but his fight with 'Lionheart' scheduled for March was canceled as a result.

During a recent interview, Jamahal Hill opened up on working with his fellow 205-er despite being booked to fight him just weeks earlier, and Anthony Smith described how his experience can help the prospect, saying:

"Jamahal can already fight, I'm not going to show him anything groundbreaking. It's essentially just making him familiar, so the first time he sees it isn't when he's in there with Glover... It's nothing crazy, it's just making him familiar with some of those spots and just some small little tweaks... It's just the experience. I've been in world title fights, I've been in there with Jon Jones. "

After suffering his first defeat in the sport at the hands of Paul Craig, Jamahal Hill has strung together an impressive three-fight win streak. With neither fight reaching the judges' scorecards, he now finds himself in the biggest matchup of his career.

Last time out, Glover Teixeira was one half of the 2022 fight-of-the-year against Jiri Prochazka as the pair fought for a grueling 24 minutes. The Brazilian was submitted and handed over his title to the European.
