The footage of a Norwegian Olympian pole vaulter, Embla Njerve, at the Paris Olympics has taken the internet by storm. The girl is 17 years old and thus, being captivated over the adolescent Olympian's attractiveness has sparked heated discussions on social media and ex-UFC fighter Jake Shields has chimed in.
Shields, a former UFC welterweight title challenger, has offered his two cents on the controversy, which arose as a result of many people admiring the Olympian's beauty. Here's what the 45-year-old replied to a post on X (Twitter):
"Are you a p*dophile if you think she's attractive?"

Many users weighed in, with some empathizing with Shields' reasonable inquiry into a touchy subject, while few bashed the former Strikeforce champion for his ill-considered question.
"Are you crazy?" asked a user.
"No. P*do’s are attracted to pre-pubescent. But if you’re over 30 and trying to get with this, it’s weird because 17/18 year-old girls are still in adolescence," another posted.
"This woman is considered fair game in pretty much every single century except this one because now we’ve become stupid and coddled," observed one user.
"Something can be objectively pretty without wanting to have s*x with it. A sunset can be pretty but I wouldn't advise having s*x with one," wrote one user.
"You can say she's pretty without being a pedo. If you se*ualize her then yes, you're a p*do," opined another user.
"She is beautiful. Beautiful is not a se*ual term. To say anything se*ual about a child is always wrong and disgusting," said another.

Jake Shields slams IDF for trying to protect rapists
Jake Shields has never shied away from expressing controversial opinions. Recently, the former UFC fighter took shots at the State of Israel for protecting se*ual abusers, rapists and assaulters.
The Californian didn't mince words as he lambasted the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) for not only committing war crimes but also defending the cowardly actions on Live TV. Here's what Shields posted on X:
"One of the IDF soldiers who was filmed raping Palestinians went on Israeli television to defend what they did. How can anyone not see these are evil, rotten people? And yes, it obviously not all Jews, but f*ck any Jew who won't call this out."
