It is no secret that Ariel Helwani and Dana White are not very fond of one another. The mixed martial arts journalist slammed the UFC frontman following the emergence of footage of him slapping his wife, Anne White, while the couple were vacationing in Cabo San Lucas.

Speaking on his podcast, The MMA Hour, Helwani discussed White targeting him by stating:

"There has only been one [comment] that has stuck with me, that hurt me right here. Dana was on UFC Unfiltered and in the interview, he was making fun of the fact that when I spoke about it on this show in a different studio, I got very emotional. They were talking about me crying and he said, 'your kids are gonna see that one day', and how embarassed they would be by seeing their father cry."

Helwani added:

"What are your kids gonna say about you? What are your kids gonna say about your legacy? About the way you treat fighters? About the way you treat people? About your business practices? What are your kids gonna say about that video? What are your kids gonna say about the kind of person that you are? What are your kids gonna say about you? Ask yourself that f**king question."

Ariel Helwani was famously removed from UFC 199 in 2016 and was banned from covering UFC events after breaking the news that Brock Lesnar would return to the sport at UFC 200. The ban led the journalist to cry openly on his show, prompting White's comments.

Dana White apologizes for physical altercation with wife

Dana White was involved in a physical altercation with his wife in which the couple were caught on camera slapping each other. In an interview with TMZ Sports, the UFC frontman publicly took responsibility for his actions, stating:

"You've heard me say for years, there's never, ever, an excuse for a guy to put his hands on a woman, and now here I am on TMZ talking about it... This is one of those situations that's horrible. I'm embarrassed... People are going to have opinions on this, and most of the people's opinions will be right, especially in my case. You don't put your hands on a woman, ever."

White added that they were intoxicated but also added that alcohol doesn't excuse his actions. Dana and Anne have clarified that everything is settled between them and that there were no hard feelings.
