Reigning ONE heavyweight world champion Arjan Bhullar will be watching the events unfold at ONE on Prime Video 5 very closely.
Two of his most bitter rivals, ONE middleweight and light heavyweight world champion Reinier de Ridder and ONE interim heavyweight world champion Anatoly Malykhin, are set to do battle in the evening’s main event.
In a recent interview with ONE Championship, Bhullar talked about the two undefeated fighters and their highly anticipated matchup. ‘Singh’ said:

“RDR is a specialist in jiu-jitsu. Malykhin is a wrestler who’s falling in love with his hands. Both have got undefeated records.”
Of course, Bhullar expects a finish to go down when the two finally lock horns in the circle. The general consensus is that Reinier de Ridder will win via submission or Anatoly Malykhin knocks him out. After all, that’s the way de Ridder and Malykhin have ended most of their respective fights.
For Bhullar, however, he thinks the pressure is on Malykhin to knock De Ridder out:
“RDR’s stand-up is so sloppy. If Anatoly doesn’t catch him, he’s absolute garbage. So, the pressure’s on both of them to come up with something, but more for Anatoly, in my opinion.”
‘The Dutch Knight’ Reinier de Ridder is scheduled to face Anatoly ‘Sladkiy’ Malykhin in the main event of ONE on Prime Video 5 when ONE Championship returns to the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines later this week. De Ridder’s light heavyweight strap will be on the line.
Arjan Bhullar will be looking to take on the winner of this fight next, in one form or another.
ONE on Prime Video 5: De Ridder vs. Malykhin broadcasts live on Friday, December 2, and is free for fans in the United States and Canada with an Amazon Prime subscription.
Arjan Bhullar sees classic matchup between de Ridder and Malykhin
Arjan Bhullar believes the world title match between Anatoly Malykhin and Reinier de Ridder is the classic clash of styles between a heavy-handed striker and a savvy grappler.
The heavyweight king, however, leans toward Malkyhin taking the win and the ONE light heavyweight world title from de Ridder.
In an interview with ONE Championship, Arjan Bhullar said:
“It’s a classic matchup. You’ve got a grappler in RDR, and you’ve got a striker-grappler in Anatoly. Anatoly has more ways to win, and that’s the way this fight goes.”
Malykhin is 3-0 in ONE Championship with all three of his wins coming via knockout. Although he’s been chopping people’s heads off, the Russian star comes from a wrestling background and could easily grapple with the best of them.
De Ridder, meanwhile, is 7-0 in his MMA matches inside the circle, with four of those wins coming via submission.
