Michael Chandler is ready to admit that he may never fight Conor McGregor but that does not mean he is open to facing Arman Tsarukyan. Instead, the former title challenger believes the current No. 1 contender is "too boring."

Tsarukyan has been calling out Chandler ever since he broke into the top 10 at lightweight but has never been able to get the veteran's attention until recently. After 'Iron' admitted on X that he believes he will never get the chance to face McGregor, Tsarukyan gave a snarky response suggesting that Chandler's only value is in "losing exciting fights."

Chandler waited two days before he dismissed the 27-year-old, replying with:

"This was just brought to my attention. I'm sorry I didn't see this a few days ago... you're just too boring to pay attention to."

Currently dealing with a six-month suspension, Tsarukyan turned himself into the undeniable No. 1 contender at 155 pounds with a split decision win over Charles Oliveira at UFC 300. The win was his fourth consecutive and ninth in his last 10 fights.

Tsarukyan was reportedly offered a chance to face Islam Makhachev for the title the same night he beat Oliveira but rejected the short-notice fight, opening the door for Dustin Poirier to get the shot at UFC 302.

Who will Michael Chandler fight next?

With the two-year anniversary of his last fight coming up in November, Michael Chandler still remains without an official matchup as he continues to be involved in the saga involving Conor McGregor.

Chandler was mentioned by Arman Tsarukyan as an opponent he is interested in for a potential interim title fight should Islam Makhachev sit out the remainder of the year but is still officially on the sidelines.

Fans remain skeptical on whether Chandler has legitimately given up on a McGregor fight or is still attempting to negotiate, but with the status of 'The Notorious' still in the dark, neither lightweight appears likely to return in 2024.
