American strawweight MMA standout Jarred Brooks doesn't want to waste any time when he gets back into action at ONE Fight Night 24 on August 2.

On a mission to impress after going without a victory in his past two outings on the global stage, the Mash Fight Team representative believes a quick highlight-reel finish will put any doubts or concerns he has to bed.

That evening, 'The Monkey God' goes toe-to-toe against No.3-ranked contender Gustavo Balart in a ONE interim strawweight MMA world title matchup, which emanates live from the world-class Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Speaking to ABS-CBN on how he'd like to secure the ONE interim strawweight MMA world championship against the Cuban wrestling specialist, Jarred Brooks said:

"I want to get it done as soon as possible. The way that I thought about it the whole time, we've been booked for five months. So, we've had a lot of preparation, a lot of incubation in understanding what he's doing."

'The Monkey God' certainly knows a thing or two about knockouts and submissions, after all. Across his 23-fight resume, the 31-year-old has posted ten finishes – two by knockout and eight by submission.

Out of his eight tapout victories, two have come inside the ONE Circle against Bokang Masunyane (rear-naked choke) and Lito Adiwang (arm-triangle choke).

Jarred Brooks aims for a one-sided showing vs Balart

Should he fail to see off the battle-tested Cuban early, Jarred Brooks will be happy to dominate Balart until the final bell or when a match-winning opportunity presents itself.

In the same interview with ABS-CBN, he added:

"I'm gonna get him in the corner, and I'm gonna bully him, and I'm gonna make him feel like the younger brother, even though he's older than me."
