Former ONE two-division world champion Aung La N Sang has some words of advice for his friend and fellow ONE double-champ, Martin 'The Situ-Asian' Nguyen.

'The Burmese Python', in more ways than one, can relate to his friend's recent skid in the ONE Championship ranks. Both are former two-division world champions who are now 1-3 in their last four fights.

In his last bout, Nguyen was knocked out by promotional newcomer Ilya Ferymanov while Aung La was dominated by his rival, Vitaly Bigdash, in their trilogy-culminating match earlier this year. In an interview with The MMA Superfan, 'The Burmese Python' had some advice for 'The Situ-Asian':

"How you get over a loss is just keep working, put your head back down and go back to work. So what happened is I told him that he’s gonna come back here and I talked to him this morning so he’s gonna come back in a few weeks and we’re gonna get back to training."

What Aung La N Sang said couldn't be more true. A loss is a loss and we have to learn from it, leave it in the past and just keep moving forward. There are no shortcuts to feeling better after a loss other than just going back to work and seeing yourself improve little by little.

Nothing makes someone get over a loss more than the feeling of winning. Working hard and completing your daily training goals can give you this, no matter how "small" the achievements are.

Aung La N Sang suggests Martin Nguyen comes back to train in Kill Cliff FC

In the same interview, Aung La N Sang suggested that Martin Nguyen return to Florida and work with him again with their team at Kill Cliff FC, formerly known as Sanford MMA, in Florida.

Aung La said:

"Yeah he [Nguyen] needs to come back and train. He needs to come back and train at Kill Cliff FC right now to get better looks. I feel like he was doing a lot of boxing, which is good, but Freymanov did a good job of kicking and showing the knee."

One can tell that Aung La cares a lot for his friend as he provided valuable insight and honest observations on his mistakes in his last fight. Only people who care about you will be honest enough to point out your mistakes with kindness and respect.

Nguyen was indeed favoring boxing against Freymanov, particularly his overhand right. This caused him to dip his head a lot, which opened him up for a knee strike from the Russian. Martin Nguyen should highly consider Aung La N Sang's suggestion if he wants to bounce back from his devastating loss.
