Former two-division world champion 'The Burmese Python' Aung La N Sang is back on the road to earning a shot at the throne. At ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video, the 37-year-old athlete will look to get another win in the competitive middleweight division.
Fresh off of his TKO stoppage against MMA legend Yushin Okami, 'The Burmese Python' will look to get another win over 'Giba' Gilberto Galvao on January 13. ONE Fight Night 6 is live and free for North American fans with Prime Video.
Breaking down his upcoming opponent, Aung La explained what he sees in this matchup in an interview with ONE Championship. He said:

"[Galvao is] going to be physically strong. He’s a jiu-jitsu black belt. He’s down to throw power and looping shots as well. I feel like I’m a little bit better than him in the striking department, a little bit cleaner. I think on the ground, I’ll do okay against him. But I think my conditioning is better than his."
Brazil's Gilberto Galvao is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialist, with half of his MMA victories being earned by way of submission. With that, the 40-year-old fighter will no doubt be seeking to stop Aung La via tap-out.
Aung La N Sang looking for a shot at the middleweight world title
'The Burmese Python' used to hold both the ONE middleweight and light heavyweight world titles. Having been stopped by dangerous grappler Reinier de Ridder, Aung La N Sang wants to earn his crown back.
Facing Gilberto Galvao soon, and possibly reigning ONE middleweight world champion Reinier de Ridder again in the future, 'The Burmese Python' understands that improving his grappling will be paramount.
In an interview with SCMP MMA, Aung La N Sang explained what facets of his game he needs to keep drilling en route to a world title shot. He explained:
"I have really high-level grapplers at my disposal that I can work with. So it's not a matter of, ‘Can I do it?’ It's a matter of when. It's going to take time, I'm probably going to have to beat a few more guys. So it is what it is. I'm willing to climb back to the top."
