At ONE Fight Night 6, Aung La N Sang picked up his second win in the space of two months. ‘The Burmese Python’ faced Brazil’s Gilberto Galvao on late notice after planned opponent Fan Rong tested positive for COVID-19.
The former double champion produced a second consecutive first-round finish, demonstrating the ferocious power that saw him become the middleweight and light heavyweight world champion.
Looking to slowly climb his way back up the rankings after going through a tough patch in his career, Aung La is determined to showcase the improvements he has been making away from the circle.
After stopping his opponent in under 90 seconds, Aung La showed restraint and respect for Galvao. He waited for the referee to stop the fight and made sure the Brazilian was okay after the fact.

In his post-fight interview, Aung La N Sang spoke about the fight stoppage:
“I wasn't concerned. But I heard him verbally saying, like to kind of stop, you know, like that. So I was looking up to the ref, and I was making sure he was okay. But it's a combat sport. This is what we do. It's our job. It's in our job title. We've got to keep going until the ref steps in, that was my only concern.”

“I know there's a card in Denver, that will be cool. And my friends and I will show up in any city in the world. We have 60 million Burmese in the world, they're going to show up no matter which city it is.”
Aung La N Sang, the former ONE middleweight and light heavyweight world champion, has been on a roll of late. He's won back-to-back fights, most recently over Gilberto Galvao in a catchweight showdown by technical knockout in the first round.
