Former two-division ONE champion Aung La N Sang is focused on the here and now, which in his case is fighting Yushin Okami at ONE 163.
'The Burmese Python' is looking to avoid losing four of his last five contests by defeating the Japanese legend. Needless to say, Aung La isn't looking past his formidable opponent. He told The MMA Superfan:
"I’m not gonna look past Okami. To me, nothing in the future matters except the fight that Okami and I are gonna throw down."
Of course, earning a title shot is in the back of the 37-year-old's mind. Losing his belt to Reinier de Ridder back in 2020 was devastating for the pride of Myanmar, and expectedly so. If you ask Aung La, his story is far from finished.

Aung La N Sang expects to be the best version of himself at ONE 163
Despite suffering setbacks in three of his last four bouts, 'The Burmese Python' isn't losing confidence in himself. Aung La N Sang told SCMP MMA:
"So when I get in the cage, it's all on me. So I want to make sure I've done everything that I need to do and I'm the best version of myself on the night of the fight."
Notably, the former champ is preparing for his fight at Kill Cliff FC under the tutelage of renowned coach Henri Hooft.
Even with the recent skid, Aung La is an impressive 12-4 since signing to ONE back in 2014. From 2017 to 2019, 'The Burmese Python' rattled off seven straight wins, including a six-fight streak in which he finished each fight.
His trilogy with Vitaly Bigdash is one of the most memorable in promotional history. As many know, Aung La handed Bigdash his first pro loss in what was a title-winning performance at ONE Championship: Light of a Nation.
Be sure to tune in to ONE 163 on November 19 to watch Aung La N Sang take on Yushin Okami, live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
