Gearing up for his highly-anticipated return to the circle against Japanese MMA legend Yushin ‘Thunder’ Okami, Aung La N Sang spoke about the incredible career of Christian Lee and his attempt to capture welterweight gold against Kiamrian Abbasov at ONE on Prime Video 4:

“That’s gonna be a good fight... I can’t predict because, whenever I doubt Christian Lee he’s proven me wrong over and over again. Christian Lee he’s so young he’s so young. When he first fought at ONE he was 17 years old, think about that.”

Christian Lee made his ONE Championship debut all the way back in 2015 when he was just 17 years old. ‘The Warrior’ started off as a featherweight contender but captured his first ONE world title at lightweight, defeating martial arts legend Shinya Aoki via second-round knockout at ONE: Enter the Dragon in 2019.

At only 24 years old, Lee has an incredible 20 career fights inside the circle and a jaw-dropping 94% finish rate, including 11 career knockouts. Already a multi-time lightweight titleholder and a ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix champion, Christian Lee will look to add another piece of gold to his collection and enter the history books as a two-division world champion.

When it comes to Christian Lee vs. Kiamrian Abbasov, Aung La N Sang says size doesn’t matter

The biggest risk any fighter faces when they move up to another weight class is a potentially insurmountable size difference. On November 18, Christian Lee will move up to welterweight to capture his second ONE world title after dominating every challenger he had in the smaller lightweight division.

However, former two-division world champion Aung La N Sang does not believe the size difference will amount to much when the two titleholders clash in the ONE on Prime Video 4 main event.

"I don’t think it matters, on fight night they’re gonna probably weigh around the same and Christian Lee is gonna be a bit stronger than he was at lightweight and Abbasov will be a little smaller than when he fought at middleweight."

‘The Burmese Python’ previously held both the middleweight and light heavyweight world titles before losing both to undefeated Dutchman Reinier de Ridder.
