Former ONE double champion Aung La N Sang will be making his United States debut as a ONE Championship fighter at ONE Fight Night 10.
The May 5 event will mark the first time that the Asian martial arts organization will host an event in front of a North American live audience. Needless to say, 'The Burmese Python', who calls the US his second home, is quite excited to be part of the historic card.
Aung La N Sang posted on his Instagram account a preview of what will happen in Broomfield at Cinco de Mayo:
"Cinco de Mayo! 💣 🎯🥊 There’s going to be a fiesta 🪅 🎉🎊in Denver 🏔️ 🇺🇸 and you are invited. @onechampionship 1st show in the US."

We certainly believe that the event will produce fiesta-worthy fireworks based on the caliber of fighters on the card alone. With Aung La included in the line-up, expect to be entertained like no other.
The former two-division ONE world champion will face divisional standout Fan Rong on the main card of the event. Aung La N Sang is coming off back-to-back knockout wins over Yushin Okami and Gilberto Galvao and is looking to secure a third straight win.
A win over Fan, ideally a knockout, will definitely propel 'The Burmese Python' into world title conversations again.
Aung La N Sang promises "a perfect storm" with ONE Championship's first-ever US show
In an interview with the South China Morning Post, Aung La N Sang spoke about the importance of timing when it comes to ONE Championship's long-awaited debut in the United States.
He believes the timing couldn't be more perfect, considering the rather controversial and exploitative nature of the fight business in the US today.
Aung La said:
“It’s perfect timing, it’s perfect timing. Especially with the UFC and the crazy slap box, slap, what is it power slap thing which is a joke. Then ONE Championship is bringing the highest level of Muay Thai in four-ounce gloves. It's a perfect time.”
He continued:
“It’s a perfect storm for ONE Championship so we’ll see... We’ll see. And this, I mean, on my part I’mma put on a great show and the fans can expect an awesome show for sure.”
There's a lot of truth behind what Aung La N Sang is saying here. The US audience, by and large, responds to a different kind of entertainment than the Asian viewing public. Leagues like Power Slap lean more on bombasticism and freak-show-type violence in order to bring more viewership.
What ONE Championship brings is the highest, most sophisticated levels of martial arts - from MMA to Muay Thai, kickboxing and submission grappling. Aung La is definitely a shining example of how great the Asian martial arts league can be.
All ONE Fight Night events are broadcast live and for free in North America via Prime Video.
