Aung La N Sang is extremely confident that he’s going to score another first-round stoppage against Fan Rong at ONE Fight Night 10.
The two middleweight veterans are set to clash on Friday, May 5, on a US fight card in Denver, Colorado, following the cancelation of their first bout at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video in January. Hoping to see Myanmar fans cheering from inside the stadium, ‘The Burmese Python’ vowed to give them another historic highlight-reel finish.
Speaking to SCMP MMA, Aung La N Sang shared the following prediction:
“Violent finish within the first three rounds, don’t blink because I’m bringing everything with me in this fight. I’m putting my body through hard and intense training and it’s gonna be the best version of me so far.”

Since losing both the light heavyweight and middleweight belts to Reinier de Ridder a few years ago, Aung La has been on a mission to regain his position at the top of the ONE middleweight division. Taking the lessons he’s learned from his losses, the Myanmar icon is razor-sharp and focused on leveling up his MMA skillsets, so the next time he runs into de Ridder, he’ll know how to deal with him.
ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video will be broadcast live and for free for US audiences with an Amazon Prime Video subscription.
Aung La N Sang says he’s not in the MMA business for the money but to be the best
Aung La N Sang isn’t being hyperbolic when he says he’s not in the MMA business just for the money. The Myanmar icon believes that one of the greatest accomplishments in life is to reach your full potential.
So when he was asked about potentially winning a $50,000 performance on May 5, here’s what the MMA veteran told SCMP MMA:
“Money doesn’t mean much to me, you need money but then money isn’t everything... It’s like if I’m not trying to be the best in my division, what am I doing this for?”
At 37 years of age, Aung La knows his days as a professional mixed martial artist are numbered. Therefore, while he’s still strong and healthy, he’ll do whatever it takes to continue shining a light on the sport in the months to come.
