Aung La N Sang makes quick turnaround to face Fan Rong at ONE Fight Night 10

It will be another quick turnaround for former two-division world champion Aung La N Sang as he is slated to return to the circle in ONE Championship’s landmark on-ground live event in the United States in May.

‘The Burmese Python’ is featured at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video on May 5 at 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado, against Chinese powerhouse Fan Rong, just three months removed from his last fight.

Aung La N Sang saw action at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video on January 13 where he made short work of returning Brazilian fighter Gilberto Galvao with a technical knockout victory in the opening round.

During his post-fight interview inside the circle, Aung La expressed his interest in fighting at ONE’s first-ever live show in the U.S. Three weeks later, his wish was granted.

Aung La is no stranger to quick turnarounds of late as he fought Galvao just two months after defeating Japan’s Yushin Okami in the first-round TKO in November. He once simultaneously held the middleweight and light heavyweight world titles before losing them to Reinier de Ridder in successive fashion in 2020 and 2021.

He has made it known that he wants to chalk up the wins to reassert himself in the middleweight division. ‘King Kong Warrior’ Fan, for his part, is looking to bounce back after losing his previous fight against Vitaly Bigdash in December 2021.

ONE Fight Night 10 is headlined by the trilogy fight between reigning ONE flyweight world champion Demetrious Johnson and rival Adriano Moraes. It will be aired live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.

Aung La N Sang teases quick turnaround after destruction of Gilberto Galvao

Even before his next fight was made known, Aung La N Sang was already grinding it out in training, getting himself ready.

In an Instagram post, 'The Burmese Python' teased that he already signed the contract for his succeeding fight, although he did not mention the name of his opponent. He captioned it with:

“Fight signed 📝. Back to work we go!”

Later on, it was announced that Aung La N Sang will take on China’s Fan Rong in a middleweight collision at ONE Fight Night 10 on May 5 in Broomfield, Colorado. It will be the promotion’s first-ever live event in the United States.

At ONE Fight Night 10, ‘The Burmese Python’ is banking on the support of his fans not only in Myanmar but also those in the U.S. who he expects to descend on the event venue to support one of their own.
