Aung La N Sang is one of the most experienced competitors on ONE Championship’s roster as a former double world champion in the promotion.
As he looks to continue his career resurgence at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video when he takes on Fan Rong, Aung La has got some opinions on a recent trend in the combat sports world.
Car-jitsu is exactly what it sounds like. Two competitors compete in a jiu-jitsu match whilst inside a car, as if to simulate a close-quarter grappling clash that could happen in the real world.
As a true veteran of martial arts, Aung La isn’t convinced by this fad. In an interview with The MMA Superfan, he gave his candid thoughts on the idea:

“Car-jitsu? What, they do jiu-jitsu in a car? What’s the world getting into? ... They’re not going to stick. They’re just a bunch of spectacles. It’s a spectacle and it won’t last. It’s something that won’t last. Like, at least, MMA is a sport. MMA is a sport, martial arts, and a spectacle. At its core, it’s still a sport. MMA is going to last... They’re spectacles. These things, car-jitsu, they're stupid.”

Aung La N Sang plans to dominate Fan Rong in every way: “I’ll just break him”
At ONE Fight Night 10 on May 5, Aung La N Sang will look to pick up his third consecutive finish when he takes on China’s Fan Rong.
After losing his first fight of 2022, the former double world champion took some time away from competition to gather himself, make some adjustments and come back stronger. That’s exactly what happened.
In the space of two months, Aung La produced back-to-back first-round finishes over Yushin Okami and Gilberto Galvao to regain some of the momentum he lost over the last few years.
In an interview with ONE Championship, ‘The Burmese Python’ spoke about his plans for ONE Fight Night 10:
“I’m looking for a finish. Honestly, I’m looking for a grand finish. If the submission is there, I’ll take it, but I’m not going to force anything. I’m just going to look to break him and outwork him. I’ll just break him.”
After losing both of his world championships to Reinier de Ridder, Aung La needed to make some readjustments in his career in order to keep competing at the highest level.
He has since rebounded from his defeats at the hands of ‘The Dutch Knight’ by winning three of his last four fights inside the circle.
