Myanmar icon Aung La N Sang is back training with longtime friend and former two-division champion Martin Nguyen at Kill Cliff FC. 'The Burmese Python' is certain that fans will be treated once Nguyen returns to the circle.

'The Situ-Asian' is prepping for his upcoming bout with Shamil Gasanov at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video, which marks a pivotal point in the fighter's career.

Nguyen is 1-3 in his last four appearances, getting finished in each defeat. Despite that form, Aung La N Sang is confident he'll return to glory in his next outing. He told SCMP MMA:

"Yeah, I’ll be here in February for Martin’s fight as well and be in his corner. I know Martin’s working his butt off. He’s in that same boat as I was in a while, you know, coming off losses. And he’s working super hard, you guys are gonna be in for a treat. He’s working very hard."

A fan favorite, Nguyen has only had three of his 17 ONE Championship bouts go the distance. Not only that, but he owns a pair of victories over lightweight king Christian Lee. Nevertheless, the upcoming fight feels like a must-win for the featherweight.

Aung La N Sang eyeing another knockout at ONE Fight Night 6 against Gilberto Galvao

Entering his next bout with an 85% finish rate, Aung La is one of the promotion's most electrifying fighters. He hopes to carry that over into his matchup with Gilberto Galvao at ONE Fight Night 6

He told ONE:

"Fans don’t want to see fights [won] by points, they want to see finishes and they want to see great skills, and that’s what I feel like I’m gonna bring to the table in this fight."

'The Burmese Python' continued, saying:

"If you watch any of my fights, I’m always looking for the finish. I want to get the finish and I’m going to work hard to get the finish."

Brazil's Galvao is a large and seasoned grappler who is looking to gain top control of Aung La. 'Giba' is returning from an extended layoff in which he hasn't competed for nearly four years.

Make sure to tune in to ONE Fight Night 6 on January 13 to watch the catchweight clash between Aung La N Sang and Gilberto Galvao, live from Bangkok, Thailand.
