One way or another, Martin Nguyen will be at the 1stBank Center in Colorado when ONE Championship makes its long-awaited fight card debut in the United States.
‘The Situ-Asian’ hopes to compete at the historic event against a man he was once scheduled to compete with as a ONE world champion; ‘The Lion Killer’ Garry Tonon. Nguyen has also shared his interest in competing against the one-time world title challenge at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video.
Martin Nguyen’s close friend and teammate Aung La N Sang hopes the two can share the circle that evening, but ‘The Burmese Python’ takes comfort in knowing that Nguyen will be in his corner regardless:
“That would be a great fight, both are great fighters, they were supposed to fight when Martin had the belt so this is the perfect time and he got to do it with me in Colorado that would be amazing,” Aung La told the South China Morning Post. “If that happens that would be amazing. If not, he’ll be there as well to support me. Either way it’s fine.”

Aung La N Sang will look to make it three in a row when he takes on the ‘King Kong Warrior’ Fan Rong. After a run that saw him drop two out of three, Aung La bounced back in a big way, scoring back-to-back first-round knockouts against Japanese legend Yushin Okami and Gilberto Galvao.
ONE Fight Night 10 is set for May 5 and will be available live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.

Aung La N Sang helped Martin Nguyen relax after the stress of multiple opponent changes
The lead-up to ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video was not an easy one for Martin Nguyen. Originally scheduled to square off against undefeated Russian standout Shamil Gasanov, Nguyen was informed that Gasanov withdrew from the contest due to an illness.
Replaced by undefeated prospect Razhab Shaydullaev, Nguyen was thrown another curveball when Shaydullaev withdrew with only a few days left till fight night.
Feeling stressed out from the situation, Martin Nguyen got some much-needed advice from Aung La N Sang who helped him relax and accept the matchup he was eventually handed:
“It’s out of your control, but it does work in your favor that’s what I told him you know. With that being said, it’s still a different fight so what he prepared for made him sharper at a lot of things but it’s not the fight he mentally prepared for and I had to really change it. I had to really like tell him, it’s gonna be whoever it is, the later two opponents are not gonna be as hard of a test in a lot of aspects as Shamil.”
‘The Situ-Asian’ went on to deliver a top-notch performance against late-notice replacement Leonardo Casotti, earning a unanimous decision.
