Being a former two-division world champion means 'The Burmese Python' Aung La N Sang knows a thing or two about the fight game. At the end of last year, grappling specialist Reinier de Ridder lost his light heavyweight crown to Russian slugger Anatoly Malykhin.
It was a first-round knockout win for the heavy-handed and dangerous Anatoly Malykhin. Aung La enjoyed the match but said that the result was no surprise.
Speaking in an interview with Tom Taylor of the South China Morning Post, he said:
"Who has the superior striking and is super heavy handed? There’s only one possible outcome, in my opinion. It’s either that or I don’t know. Somehow he tires the bigger opponent out. He tires him out. To me it wasn’t a surprise at all."
