Myanmar icon Aung La N Sang doesn't see himself competing in MMA forever. As he revealed, there's only one thing that could force him to hang up the gloves.

The 39-year-old superstar is headed on a collision course to Denver, Colorado, this week to face undefeated middleweight standout Shamil Erdogan at ONE 168.

Erdogan will be Aung La's twentieth bout under the promotion and fourth straight fight since losing a world title eliminator bout to Russia's Vitaly Bigdash in February 2022. In view of that, Aung La knows that there is a short amount of time left over to make another significant impact in the combat sports world.

But at the moment, 'The Burmese Python' is just taking things day by day, not necessarily thinking about retiring. As he mentioned before, the Kill Cliff FC representative is in the best shape he's ever been - and he's just as good as he was ten years ago.

So when *does* he plan to retire?

This week, Aung La N Sang gave Cageside Press the following answer:

"I told myself when I start self-doubting in the middle, that's when I'm done fighting. When my motivation is not there, when I don't train like the young guys anymore. Then, I'm done. But those haven't happened yet."

"Looking sharp" - Aung La N Sang continues to have what it takes to take home the victory and earn the coveted title shot

Aung La N Sang may be considered an old guy in mixed martial arts, but he sure doesn't show it.

The former ONE middleweight and light heavyweight MMA world champion has been nothing but consistent and can still knock people out at the first opportunity. If Shamil Erdogan hasn't met with power yet, he will know what Aung La is all about come fight night on September 6.

The fans online are super stoked to watch their favorite family man take home the victory in astonishing fashion.
