Aung La N Sang is taking steps to deal with the difficulties that come with fighting in Colorado.
‘The Burmese Python’ will seek his first-straight victory inside the Circle on May 5 when he meets Chinese standout Fan Rong. Before he heads to the 1stBank Center, the Myanmar superstar will be doing everything possible to prepare his body for an elevation in Colorado. In an interview with ONE Championship, Aung La said:
“To get acclimated to the elevation, I have everything in place. I’m going to go there a little early. As far as nutrition goes, I’m gonna be taking some supplements, like beetroot juice and stuff like that. I don’t want to give all the details, but I think I’ll be good.”
Appropriately named the "Mile High City," Denver, Colorado is literally one mile above sea level. Individuals who are not familiar with high-altitude living may struggle with low air pressure and decreased oxygen. This is especially tough for professional athletes. In an effort to remedy the situation, many will attempt to arrive early and acclimate themselves to the environment.

That is exactly what Aung La N Sang will do in preparation for his middleweight showdown with the ‘King Kong Warrior’ Fan Rong at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video.
Aung La N Sang assures fans he will be ready for Colorado’s unique environment
Given the unique obstacles that fighting in Colorado presents, it’s understandable why fans would be concerned about a fighter’s ability to go 15 minutes inside the Circle. Factor in the fact that Aung La N Sang is also 37 years old and you have a potential recipe for disaster.
However, ‘The Burmese Python’ has assured fans that he has done his homework and will be fully prepared to perform.
“My cardio will be on point. I have a professional team of guys that helps me acclimate to the elevation. I’ve done my research on this, and I’m going to be professional about it.”
ONE Fight Night 10 is another potential do-or-die situation for Aung La N Sang. After dropping two out of three and surrendering two ONE world titles to ‘The Dutch Knight’ Reinier de Ridder, he is still fighting his way back into title contention.
Aung La bounced back in a big way with back-to-back first-round knockouts of Yushin ‘Thunder’ Okami and Gilberto Galvao. But one loss could bring his skyrocketing momentum crashing back down to earth.
Fan Rong plans to do just that. The ‘King Kong Warrior’ is looking to get back into the win column following his third-round submission defeat at the hands of former ONE middleweight world champion Vitaly Bigdash.
