Promotional legend Aung La N Sang has one goal in mind before hanging up the gloves — reclaiming his world title. He promises to get the job done.
'The Burmese Python' relinquished his two titles to Reinier de Ridder in back-to-back fights. Since then, Aung La has won three of his four bouts, finishing all of his victories in the opening round.
Now, after stopping Gilberto Galvao in under 90 seconds last time out, the former two-division champ has vowed to retrieve his middleweight crown. He told SCMP MMA:
"2023 is going to be an exciting one. I feel good, I feel strong. I’m ready to climb my way back to the top. And I promise you I’m going to get back what’s mine."

Aung La N Sang thankful for his Myanmar fans showing up in Bangkok for recent fight
The Myanmar native felt the love from his home nation, despite competing in Thailand for this recent fight. Aung La won both of his world titles in Myanmar and he couldn't be more thankful for his fans, telling SCMP MMA:
"I heard from my friends that there are going to be a lot of Myanmar nationals. Even when we went to the mall, people from my state were here. I knew there were going to be a lot of my people in the crowd and that’s why my entrance was in Burmese."
'The Burmese Python' is a perfect 7-0 inside the circle when fighting in his home nation. Meanwhile, he's gone 7-4 competing elsewhere under ONE's banner.
Reinier de Ridder still owns the middleweight strap, successfully defending it twice against Kiamrian Abbasov and Vitaly Bigdash.
Aung La was submitted in the opening round of his middleweight match against de Ridder back in October 2020. Now, the former champ is on a hot streak and he has immense desire in his heart.
