Skye Nicolson recently expressed her desire to remain an active competitor and explained why she feels strongly about constant competition. The Australian boxer noted that there are benefits to doing so, which is one of the many reasons why she continues to gain popularity.

The 28-year-old most recently competed this past Saturday, where she earned a unanimous decision win over Dyana Vargas. It was her first successful WBC female featherweight title defense and improved her unbeaten professional record to 11-0. Nicolson came into the bout after having most recently defeated Sarah Mafoud via unanimous decision to win the title this past April.

During her appearance on today's episode of The MMA Hour, the Australian expressed interest in competing often and even noted that money wouldn't be much of a hurdle. Nicolson mentioned that she believes that constant competition would allow her to make significant strides in her development as a boxer. She said:

"I'd rather get paid half the amount and fight twice as often...I love it. I just love fighting. I want to have 10 fights a year...I just feel like I would be improving at an even more rapid rate if I could just move straight into another fight."

Skye Nicolson discusses potential bout against Amanda Serrano

Skye Nicolson recently discussed a potential bout against Amanda Serrano and described what she believes would transpire if they did fight.

During the aforementioned appearance, the Australian told host Ariel Helwani that she has a great deal of respect for the Puerto Rican and noted that the bout would be for legacy in the sport. Nicolson mentioned that she'd like to fight Serrano because a win would prove that she is the top featherweight in the world, but is skeptical that the feeling is mutual. She said:

"She [Serrano] thinks that she's the best in the world. I think I'm the best in the world. Of course I want to fight her. She's got the other belts in the division, I want the belts. Any world champion would want to be chasing the other belts, that's the idea...She doesn't want to fight me. I mean, it's so obvious."
