Japanese judo specialist Ayaka Miura is expecting to do well in her first submission grappling match later this month. She is looking to execute her signature move, the 'Ayaka Lock'.
'Zombie' will take on jiu-jitsu ace Danielle Kelly in a catchweight submission grappling contest at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video. The event is set for February 24 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Ayaka Miura has been competing in mixed martial arts since making her promotional debut in August 2019. Now, though, she has decided to dip her hands in another sport.

While recognizing that she is facing a tough challenge from Kelly, the Japanese fighter is undeterred. She warned her opponent that she will be packing all her weapons for fight night, including the 'Ayaka Lock'.
Ayaka Miura told Sportskeeda MMA:
“I hope you will see it in this fight. Please look forward to seeing it.”
The 'Ayaka Lock', as she described it to ONE Championship, “is a technique that uses judo holds to control the opponent’s shoulders and bend their elbows in the opposite direction. Since the joint is fixed and bent in the opposite direction, you can’t escape from the pain, you have to tap."
The move was very prominent in her MMA victories in ONE.
ONE Fight Night 7 will take place at the famed Lumpinee Boxing Stadium and will be aired live and for free on Prime Video for all Amazon subscribers across North America.

While submission grappling will be new to her, Japanese judo specialist Ayaka Miura said she has no problems venturing into it, She wants to continue improving as a fighter and stay active.

In an interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Ayaka Miura said it did not take long for her to agree to fight Kelly when it was offered:
“It’s simple - ONE Championship offered this match so I decided to accept. I wanted to stay active.”
Miura has spent the last four years fighting in mixed martial arts in ONE and is now looking to carve a name for herself in submission grappling.
Waiting for her at ONE Fight Night 7 is Kelly, who impressed in her first two matches in the promotion after signing last year. She earned a $50,000 performance bonus in both fights.
