Chael Sonnen recently expressed disappointment at the possibility of the beef being squashed between former light heavyweight champions Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones. While they competed in the 205-pound division, 'DC' and 'Bones' engaged in a bitter rivalry.
Jon Jones recently put out a tweet welcoming Cormier to commentate on his UFC 285 heavyweight debut fight. He said that 'DC' was really good at his job and expressed hope that the former two-weight world champion would be an unbiased commentator.
Daniel Cormier responded by saying that he didn't need Jones' permission to work at the pay-per-view event. However, he added that it was nice to be acknowledged by his former rival.
In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Chael Sonnen seemed less than pleased at the prospect of the beef ending and stated:

"I don't know that I would ever root for somebody not to make up, or that I would root for somebody to go through life without being civil. But I got to tell you, I didn't want them to make up. I like that rivalry."

Jon Jones is set to make his heavyweight debut against No.1-ranked Ciryl Gane at UFC 285. The pair will fight for the vacant heavyweight title after former champion Francis Ngannou left the organization due to a contract dispute.
"Let bygones be bygones" - Jon Jones ready to squash beef with Daniel Cormier
Ahead of his much-anticipated comeback at UFC 285 against Ciryl Gane, Jon Jones is approaching the game with a fresh perspective. Jones recently put out a series of tweets directed at his arch-rival Daniel Cormier, praising his commentary skills and acknowledging his contributions to combat sports.
Jones initially put out a tweet 'welcoming' 'DC' to call his fight and hoped that Cormier would be unbiased in his commentary. Daniel Cormier responded by saying that although he didn't need Jones' "permission" to call the fight, he appreciated being acknowledged by his rival.
A fan replied to 'Bones' with a hashtag asking for 'DC' to do the post-fight octagon interview were he to win.
Jones replied with the following tweet:
"Whoever wants to do it, [it's] totally cool with me. I feel like I'm in a whole new chapter of my life. Let bygones be bygones."
A few tweets later, Jon Jones addressed Cormier directly, saying that he was "cool" with him:
"In all seriousness, DC, I'm cool with you bro. I recognize the man you are, I wasn't lying when I said those things in my post-fight interview. Outside of us being fierce competitors, I dig the way you represent yourself, the wrestling community, our community, and our sport"
