Belal Muhammad verbally attacked Kamaru Usman for his recent comments about welterweight contenders calling him out.
In October 2023, Usman made his latest UFC appearance, a majority decision loss against Khamzat Chimaev at middleweight. The former welterweight champion is riding a three-fighting losing skid, raising questions about his future in MMA.
Earlier this month, Usman went on his podcast, Pound 4 Pound, and revealed he will return to the Octagon in 2025. The 37-year-old also sounded off on top welterweight contenders for continuing to accuse him of not wanting to fight them.
During an interview with MMA Junkie Radio, welterweight king Belal Muhammad had this to say about Usman:

“It’s so funny when you have a guy like him, right? He’s on a three-fight losing streak, and when these guys are calling him out, he’s acting like, he’s putting himself on this pedestal like he’s still the champion, like they shouldn’t be calling him out. Bro, you’re just a podcaster now. You haven’t fought in over a year, and if you’re not gonna defend your ranking, then leave, quit."
Belal Muhammad became the UFC welterweight champion with a unanimous decision win against Leon Edwards in July 2024.
'Remember The Name' was scheduled to defend his title for the first time against Shavkat Rakhmonov before pulling out due to a foot infection.

Belal Muhammad claims Kamaru Usman could be heading toward "Tony Ferguson losing streak"
Kamaru Usman's three-fighting losing streak was against world-class talent - Leon Edwards twice and Khamzat Chimaev.
Nevertheless, Usman's reputation as a former world champion and top pound-for-pound fighter has fans questioning if his best days are behind him.
During the previously mentioned interview, Belal Muhammad had this to say about Usman needing to consider retirement before ending up like Tony Ferguson, who's lost eight consecutive fights:
“You’re on a three-fight losing streak and should start looking at retirement now, or you’re gonna get on that Tony Ferguson losing streak, and people are gonna forget that you were ever champion.”
Kamaru Usman was initially tied to rumors for a fight against Jack Della Maddalena. Instead, Della Maddalena will face Leon Edwards on March 22 in London, making it unclear who Usman will be matched up against for his next Octagon appearance.
