De Ridder, the former ONE two-division champion has won both his UFC fights by submission. In his last fight against veteran fighter Gerald Meerschaert, he won with a third-round submission using an arm-triangle choke. Following these recent wins, there have been increasing calls for him to face ranked middleweight contenders.
On the other hand, Holland has struggled to achieve consistent success since moving up to the middleweight division. The American has frequently switched between the middleweight and welterweight divisions throughout his professional MMA career. Many believe that Holland may be undersized for middleweight, particularly when fighting against grapplers. However, he made his most recent switch to middleweight after suffering back-to-back defeats against Jack Della Maddalena and Michael 'Venom' Page.
After defeating Michal Oleksiejczuk at UFC 302, Holland went on to lose to Roman Dolidze and de Ridder by finishes. As of now, 'Trailblazer' has a 9-6-1NC record in the UFC middleweight division, while he went 4-4 in welterweight fights in the UFC.
