Belal Muhammad predicts future title clash with Shavkat Rakhmonov after witnessing his UFC 310 performance against Ian Machado Garry

Belal Muhammad is confident about his chances of defeating Shavkat Rakhmonov after watching the latter's performance against Ian Machado Garry at UFC 310. In addition to defeating Rakhmonov, Muhammad asserted that he would outclass the Kazakh in their potential title fight.

Rakhmonov was originally slated to challenge Muhammad for the welterweight title at UFC 310 this past weekend, but the reigning champion had to pull out of the contest due to a bone infection in his left foot. This forced Garry to step in and take on the unbeaten contender in a title eliminator bout.

Even though he was the underdog, Garry performed admirably and nearly submitted Rakhmonov in the last round. However, 'Nomad' showed determination and broke free from the chokehold. In the end, Rakhmonov was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

Muhammad, who was present in the arena, witnessed everything and went on to confront Rakhmonov inside the octagon. Following UFC 310, the Chicago native raised questions about Rakhmonov's performance in an interview with The Schmo.

When asked how their potential title fight would play out, the 36-year-old stated that he would dominate Rakhmonov while remaining positive about his chances of defeating him. Muhammad said:

''Before this fight even happened I thought I was going to dominate him [Rakhmonov] so now I got extra 25 minutes to break him down even more and I came to the same conclusion. I'm going to dominate him. I'm better than both of these guys, I'm better than everybody in the division and next time you see me in the cage you guys are going to realize it.''

Belal Muhammad reacts to the security incident at UFC 310

At UFC 310, the security initially prevented Belal Muhammad from entering the octagon for a face-off with Shavkat Rakhmonov. This prompted Joe Rogan to make a hilarious remark about the security not knowing Muhammad was the champion.

In the aforementioned interview with The Schmo, Muhammad discussed the situation, saying:

“Yeah, I don’t know, they thought I was gonna do, they thought I was pulling a Merab (Dvalishvili), like hopping over and going crazy or something like that. No, he called me, bro! If someone calls me into the cage I’m gonna go in there, right? I don’t think (the security) heard it, they didn’t realise what was going on they thought I was going in to attack him, I’m just like, 'bro, chill.''' [2:44]
