ONE Championship recently announced the headliner for the ONE Fight Night 24 card on August 2. Former ONE strawweight MMA world champion Jarred Brooks will face the number three-rated divisional contender Gustavo Balart for the ONE interim strawweight MMA world title.

After current ONE strawweight MMA world champion Joshua Pacio suffered a knee injury that will force him on the sidelines for an extended period of time, ONE Championship has decided to create this interim world title showdown between 'The Monkey God' and 'El Gladiator' to keep the division busy.
It is going to be an exciting clash because both Brooks and Balart are wrestling-based fighters, so it will be interesting to see how they come up with their respective fight plans. Furthermore, the winner of this match will have an automatic shot against Pacio in a unification world title match.
