Bianca Basilio will be looking for another impressive submission victory as she makes her sophomore appearance inside the Circle on Friday night.
Bianca Basilio scored her 101st career win in November when she made her promotional debut against Japanese-Brazilian standout Milena Sakumoto. Basilio only needed 42 seconds to submit Sakumoto, immediately making a splash in the promotion’s submission grappling division. Her next task will be to take on IBJJF world champion Tammi Musumeci.
In an interview with ONE Championship, Bianca Basilio shared her appreciation for the promotion’s submission grappling format that encourages finishes and believes it will result in a great matchup with Musumeci.
“I think we’re going to have a great fight,” Basilio said. “I’m a complete fighter, I feel good looking for takedowns, doing guard, or passing guard. Ten minutes without points is very good for the fight to unfold, as I think the athletes can expose themselves and move more between positions without worrying because the focus is on submissions.”

Making her promotional debut, Tammi Musumeci is the older sister of ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion Mikey ‘Darth Rigatoni’ Musumeci. Not to be outdone by her little brother, Musumeci is a multi-time IBJJF world champion herself. When she’s not dominating her opponents on the mat, Musumeci is in the courtroom putting to use the law degree she earned from the William S. Boyd School of Law in 2020.
Tammi Musumeci details the partnership with her ONE world champion brother ahead of Bianca Basilio bout
ONE Championship fans are more than familiar with ONE world champion Mikey Musumeci after ‘Darth Rigatoni’ took the submission grappling world by storm last year. Some fans may not be overly familiar with his equally impressive older sister, but come Friday night, that will most certainly change.
Tammi Musumeci heads into the Circle for her promotional debut after dominating the world of Brazilian jiu-jitsu for more than a decade. She will face a tough task when she meets Brazilian standout Bianca Basilio, but Musumeci will be more than up to the task.
Before stepping foot inside the Circle at ONE Fight Night 8, she sat down with ONE Championship to discuss the unique relationship that she has with her brother and training partner, Mikey Musumeci.
"We’ve always been partners. We’re still training partners. We’d train at different gyms, but we’ve always trained with each other on the side as well by ourselves, which I felt helped me a ton because he’d work with me even when he was a blue belt or a kid."
