‘Bibiano Fernandes is excited to challenge Team Lakay’s next biggest prospect, Stephen Loman, at ONE on Prime Video 4. The event will be broadcast live and free to North American audiences with a Prime Video subscription.
The former multi-time bantamweight world champion is scheduled to meet No. 5-ranked contender ‘The Sniper’ Stephen Loman in a bantamweight clash on Friday, November 18 in front of millions of US fans.
Having fought one of Team Lakay’s best fighters, ‘The Silencer’ Kevin Belingon four times under the promotion, Bibiano expects Loman to come out with the same kind of energy but better.
Studying every component of Loman’s game, Bibiano acknowledged he’s a slick and tricky fighter. But he was also quick to remind fans that even though his opponent’s younger, ‘The Flash’ is still the “OG” of MMA.

The 42-year-old Brazilian told The MMA Superfan:
“Team Lakay loves Bibi. A hundred percent, I’ve watched him many times. I’ve tried to figure out his skills. He loves to punch, kick, run away, kick, and run away, try to take you down. He’s a good fighter. I’m excited to fight that kind of young guy. I’m an OG, I’m here and I’m ready to go and do my job. It’s going to be a good fight for everybody.”
If Bibiano Fernandes manages to pull off a win, he may be guaranteed a shot for the vacant world title against the No.1-contender, Fabricio Andrade. Moreover, the Brazilian veteran has all the skills in his arsenal to make this so.
He’s a prolific grappler with a tendency to use right hooks as smoke mirrors for takedowns. Most of the time he lands those power punches, so it will be in Loman’s best interest to stay away from his right hand and avoid those takedowns.
Perhaps the only way to win is to force Bibiano into a three-round slugfest because he’s not going anywhere until there’s only one man left standing.
Team Lakay coach warns Stephen Loman about the threat Bibiano Fernandes poses
Team Lakay coach Mark Sangiao cautioned his pupil about the threat Bibiano Fernandes poses inside the ring.
According to Sangiao, just because Fernandes lost to John Lineker in his last outing at ONE: Full Circle, you can’t underestimate his skills just from one poor performance.
Speaking to Spin Philippines, Sangiao shared what he told Stephen Loman about Fernandes:
“He’s a veteran of the sport, and he’ll use everything legal in his power to break you. I always remind Stephen to treat it as a war the moment he steps in the ring.”
Indeed, the Brazilian powerhouse lost his belt to Lineker with a devastating TKO in the second round. Bibiano Fernandes had his chances, catching his fellow Brazilian with a powerful right overhand in the first round, however, Lineker was the better man that night.
