You'd think at this point in their tooth-and-nail battle against performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) that the UFC has completely rid their roster of PED-users. Guess again. As per recent reports, heavyweight fighter Hamdy Abdelwahab has been suspended for exogenous testosterone.
This is the third time that the Egyptian fighter has been flagged for banned substances and/or violating company policies on health and wellness in the past two years.
MMA journalist Nolan King made the initial report on X, saying:
"Heavyweight Hamdy Abdelwahab has been suspended 6 months by UFC anti-doping program CSAD for exogenous testosterone. CSAD attributes it to a tainted supplement, which is a 3-month suspension. Since Abdelwahab was still serving a previous drug suspension, the sanction doubled."

Getting handed a suspension while still serving one doesn't look good for the heavyweight fighter, with X user @Phil50474 saying:
"Biggest juice head in UFC history ?"

Hamdy Abdelwahab's rocky stint in the UFC so far
Before embarking on an MMA career, Hamdy Abdelwahab was a Greco-Roman wrestler and represented his home country of Egyot at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
After compiling five straight wins in Jorge Masvidal's Gamebred FC and iKon Fighting Championship, 'The Hammer' got signed by the UFC, becoming the first Egyptian fighter to be signed in the organization.
Abdelwahab made his promotional debut in July 2022, defeating Don'Tale Mayes via a split decision. The result was overturned due to a failed drug test by Abdelwahab.
He was scheduled to face Parker Porter in October of that year but was removed from the card for undisclosed reasons. A few months later, 'The Hammer' got handed a two-year suspension for testing positive for Metenolone, an anabolic agent.
The Egyptian fighter was supposed to have been allowed to compete again by the end of July this year but got popped again for exogenous testosterone. This added more months to his suspension.
