Nabil Anane channeled his inner Pirate King and shifted into Gear 2 ahead of the biggest fight of his career.
The 6-foot-4 phenom is about to embark on his first shot at ONE Championship gold when he faces Nico Carrillo for the ONE interim bantamweight Muay Thai world title at ONE 170 on Jan. 24 at Impact Arena.
Taking to Instagram, Anane thanked ONE Championship for the massive opportunity in the first month of the year.

Nabil Anane posted:
"Biggest opportunity, trust me I don't want to miss it too ❤️. Thank you @onechampionship."
Anane, a huge fan of the ultra-popular manga and anime series One Piece, has been on a tear with an impressive five-fight winning streak.
After falling short against double world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 in his promotional debut, the 20-year-old rising star went perfect in his subsequent matches across two weight classes.
Anane first took care of his business against Nakrob Fairtex and Muangthai PK Saenchai at flyweight and then moved up to bantamweight where he dominated Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai, Felipe Lobo, and Soe Lin Oo.
While his previous wins solidified his case for ONE Championship gold, the man Anane is about to face in Bangkok took a similar path at the interim world title.
Carrillo is a perfect 4-0 in his run in ONE Championship, with all four wins coming by way of knockout.
'King of the North' sent Furkan Karabag, Muangthai, former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Hama, and Saemapetch Fairtex in his climb to world title contention.
Nabil Anane eyes revenge against Superlek Kiatmoo9
Nabil Anane has been nothing short of impressive in his ONE Championship tenure, yet there's one match he's determined to go back to and wipe his slate clean.
The Thai-Algerian phenom dropped his promotional June 2023 debut when he lost to Thai megastar Superlek Kiatmoo9, who now reigns as the ONE flyweight kickboxing and bantamweight Muay Thai world champion.
Anane told Nick Atkin that he plans to avenge that defeat, especially with Superlek now reigning over the bantamweight Muay Thai class:
"The fight was quite quick, I didn't watch much, but it was a very technical fight. Superlek waited for his moment and then he got the chance, so he put Haggerty down. So congratulations to Superlek. Now he's the champ. Maybe in the future, I will have an opportunity to get my revenge."
