Submission grappling powerhouse Fabricio Andrey will bring his breathtaking ground game to the global stage of ONE Championship. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion was unveiled as the promotion's latest signing on its official site yesterday.

He can expect to be put to the test against like-minded ground game wizards on the ONE Championship roster, but those familiar with the style 'Hokage' brings know that entertainment is always guaranteed.

The 24-year-old BJJ savant has reached the very pinnacle of the sport through each rank of the colored belts, even competing as a blue belt at the IBJJF world championships in California, US.

After a dominant run of performances, the Manaus native was awarded his black belt in August 2020, and more success followed.

In less than five years as a black belt, the young dynamo has attained important wins over legendary names like two-time ADCC world champion Giancarlo Bodoni and heavyweight favorite Owen Livesey.

More importantly, Andrey is armed with a variety of tricks up his gi and rashguard, as seen by his various submission victories over the past decade. That, plus his ability to draw a tap from the slightest of opportunities, has made him an absolute must-watch.

With a penchant for constantly hunting for submissions, the 24-year-old's electric and high-octane style will go hand-in-hand with ONE Championship's submission grappling ruleset that prevents competitors from stalling.

BJJ icon Marcelo Garcia set for ONE Championship campaign

In addition to Fabricio Andrey's signing, the world's largest martial arts organization added BJJ icon Marcelo Garcia to its loaded submission grappling ranks yesterday.

The 41-year-old veteran is one of the best to ever do it in the sport.

And his lengthy list of achievements — a five-time IBJJF world champion, a Pan-American Champion, and a multi-time Brazilian National Champion — serves as a testament to the impact he's left in the sport.

There has been no confirmation on when Andrey or Garcia will make their promotional bows, but, as always, stay tuned to Sportskeeda MMA for any updates.
