Drew Stuve has made opponents catch a fade inside the ring but he has been known for giving out fades inside of the barbershop. 'Wild Boy' headlines BKFC Edmonton later this week and Stuve looks to take out Sonny Smith on Saturday, Aug. 31.
Being a barber is still a part of his life but Stuve has had to prioritize fighting to a far greater degree after he realized he was faced with a bit of a crossroads moment.
Appearing on a recent episode of Bare Knuckle Bowker, Stuve showcased the barbershop he now has inside his home and stated:
"So I actually part owned a barbershop with a guy here in Edmonton and I sold it to pursue fighting. So I wasn't sure I was going to open my own shop. I ended up buying into this shop. Then I just decided you know what like it's either all or nothing. Like fighting, you can't be one foot in, one foot out. You've got to go all in."

Stuve added:
"I'm at the age now where it's either I do it or I don't. I decided that I don't ever want to look back and be like I wish that I did this. I wish that I went all in and at least gave it a shot. So I was like you know what, I'm gonna do it. So I just cut hair out of my house now part time and then training is my full time job now."

Drew Stuve on when he sparred Sonny Smith before this fight
Drew Stuve and Sonny Smith are no strangers to exchanging fisticuffs although the first time was with gloves on. These two combatants sparred against one another at a previous BKFC tryouts event with Stuve seeing it as a very one-sided session in his favor per the referenced interview.
The 27-year-old was quick to say he had nothing against Smith and felt his now-opponent came across as a good guy after they had gotten in some work. That being said, Stuve felt the chance each man had to take the other's head off imparted a sense of confidence to him to where he felt he could secure a multiple-bout Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship contract with a victory in this contest.
The Alberta native at one point never had foreseen himself pursuing bare-knuckle boxing before that tryouts event but the multiple-time Golden Gloves champion now has goals within this sport. Stuve is eyeing getting on a big card in the United States and aims to put Canada on the map for bare-knuckle fighting.
