The Mike Tyson and Jake Paul fight has many still talking about it. That includes a BKFC fighter who shares a birthday with the former heavyweight champion who has weighed in on matters.
Appearing on a recent episode of Bare Knuckle Bowker, Zach Calmus covered several subjects ahead of his fight with Patrick Brady at BKFC KnuckleMania 5 on Jan. 25. When discussing his thoughts on the Tyson vs. Paul, Calmus said:
"I think it was great financially for Mike. That's all I have to say about that. I think it was great. I think it was great financially for Mike and Netflix and whoever. They brought combat sports to Netflix. So that's a great thing, you know. You got to be careful."
"Really gather your thoughts before you comment on a legend like Mike Tyson, you know. What do you think we're gonna be doing at that age? You know what I mean, let's just all put it in perspective. So yeah, did I enjoy it? No. But am I happy that it happened? Yes. Does that make sense?"

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul embrace at Donald Trump's inauguration
Mike Tyson and Jake Paul threw down with one another during their Nov. boxing bout but embraced recently as guests at the U.S. presidential inauguration of Donald Trump. The two were quite jovial with one another as Paul hoisted Tyson up upon his shoulders. 'The Problem Child' posted footage of this to his Instagram page with Paul referring to Tyson as his best friend in the caption.
The 58-year-old and Paul were all smiles with both raising their arms during this interaction. This drew the ire of some in Jake Paul's Instagram comment section with people saying they felt these two boxers 'played us for millions'. Another commenter offered up a barb about how Paul would understandably see Tyson as a best friend as the two performed 'a classic heist' together.
Someone else referred to Paul and the native of New York state as 'business partners' with oft-uttered refrains of 'definitely rigged' littering the comment section. This is customary with a certain segment of Paul detractors once the combat sports disruptor secures any kind of victory.
This rhetoric exists to such an extent that Paul's promotional company Most Valuable Promotions came out with a formal press release post-fight. This was a statement with MVP unequivocally denying any notion that the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson bout had a predetermined outcome or was in any way a work, to use the parlance of pro wrestling.
