BKFC founder Dave Feldman provided an update on the possibility of Nate Diaz and former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou joining the promotion and transitioning to bare-knuckle boxing.
During his appearance on The MMA Hour, Feldman was asked whether there have been any negotiations with the popular free agents. He mentioned that it's unlikely that Ngannou will be joining the promotion because of how much he would demand to compete in BKFC.
He said:
"No, I don't think we're gonna bring him [Francis Ngannou] over. You know, I'm honest and straight up. I go after guys that I think I could go after but when they started talking the number that they wanted, it wasn't in our wheelhouse right now."

With regards to Diaz, the BKFC founder was more optimistic and noted that he will continue to have ongoing discussions to see if a deal is possible. However, he mentioned that the former The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) winner having a lot of scar tissue could make him more hesitant, saying:
"I'm not really sure what he wants to do. You know, he's got a lot of scar tissue and getting hit with a bare-knuckle might not be great for him, might be great for him. You know, we'll find out as these next couple of weeks go by but his team's been great to deal with."
Based on his discussions with both free agents, Feldman might be able to sign Diaz. Even if the former TUF winner doesn't compete in the promotion, there could be other areas where he could get involved, especially with some of his teammates competing at upcoming BKFC events.
BKFC founder Dave Feldman announces massive event
BKFC founder Dave Feldman continues to build the bare-knuckle boxing promotion's popularity and is going all out with a massive event scheduled on April 29.
During his appearance on The MMA Hour, he announced the headliners for BKFC 41 and didn't disappoint. He announced the signing of former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold and former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez.
In the main event, Rockhold will fight Mike Perry in a middleweight bout, while Alvarez will fight former UFC featherweight title challenger Chad Mendes at 165lbs in the co-main event. It will be interesting to see how the former champions perform in bare-knuckle boxing and whether the promotion becomes a destination for other MMA free agents looking to try something different.
