Conor McGregor has maintained a low social media profile since facing a sizable wave of consequences after being found liable for assaulting Nikita Hand in a civil court case. However, the Irishman has broken his pseudo internet sabbatical to express astonishment over Justin Watson's historic knockout at BKFC 69.

The moment took place in a featherweight bout with Cole Ferrell. The very instance that the match began, Watson blasted his foe with a thunderous right cross that face-planted him. The official count is two seconds, but it is arguable that it is a one-second knockout.

McGregor, who is a part-owner of the BKFC, took to his Instagram stories to show his appreciation for the stunning finish.

"THE WORLDS FASTEST KO! WOW!"

Countless conversations arose in the aftermath of Watson's knockout, with it being crowned as the fastest knockout in combat sports history. No other sport, it seems, has produced a faster stoppage. Not MMA, boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai or any other. At least not at this level of competition.

Despite the historic nature of Watson's knockout, he is not a proven winner as a bare-knuckle boxer. In fact, this is his first win, as his record under the BKFC banner is 1-2. However, to draw the notice of McGregor, who often uses social media to attack other fighters, even BKFC ones, is special.

Watson will now look to use the momentum from this win to turn his career around and prove to any detractors that his knockout wasn't a mere stroke of luck.

Conor McGregor is no stranger to historic knockouts

While Conor McGregor hasn't fought, in any capacity, since July 10, 2021, he has an inimitable legacy in MMA. Known for his punching power and precision, the Irishman scored his fair share of knockouts, including the fastest knockout in UFC title fight history. And it wasn't against just any champion.

Check out Conor McGregor's 13-second knockout of José Aldo:

At UFC 194, 'The Notorious' took on the greatest featherweight of all time and then 145-pound champion José Aldo. The bout commenced with a feeling out process, before things quickly heated up as Aldo lunged face-first into a counter-left straight from McGregor which knocked him out stiff in just 13 seconds.
