Bo Nickal might be one of the UFC's most exciting prospects, but it seems like fans will have to wait quite a bit longer to see the American in action. While Nickal's pro-MMA career (3-0-0) is still in its nascent stage, the middleweight contender is a highly accomplished wrestler with numerous accolades to prove it.
He was the winner of the Dan Hodge Trophy in 2019, given to the nation's most outstanding wrestler at the college level, and is a three-time NCAA Division 1 champion.
The 26-year-old secured himself a UFC contract after his impressive 52-second submission win against Donovan Beard in Dana White's Contender Series (DWCS) 6. Prior to that, he successfully fought against Zachary Borrego at DWCS 49 but was denied a contract due to his inexperience.

While Bo Nickal has certainly put the middleweight division on notice, it seems that his name is missing from the list of UFC's upcoming scheduled fights. In a tweet posted by journalist Marcel Dorff, a compiled list of scheduled bouts until April seems to have left out Nickal.

While he was meant to face Jamie Pickett at UFC 282 back in December, 'The Allen Assassin' was forced to pull out due to an injury.
It was speculated that his promotional debut would be in March 2023 at UFC 285 but with these new developments, it remains unclear when the wrestling sensation will feature in the UFC octagon.
Henry Cejudo suggests Bo Nickal and Khamzat Chimaev as potential opponents for Shavkat Rakhmonov
Henry Cejudo recently shared his opinion on welterweight contender Shavkat Rakhmonov's prospects and suggested Bo Nickal and Khamzat Chimaev as future opponents for the 28-year-old.
'Nomad' was set to put his sixteen-fight undefeated streak as a pro-MMA fighter on the line once again next month against Geoff Neal at UFC Vegas 67. However, it was announced that Neal had been forced to pull out due to an undisclosed injury.
In a recent interview with Helen Yee, Henry Cejudo discussed Bo Nickal and Chimaev as replacements for the Kazakh native. On being asked who Rakhmonov could face instead of Neal, 'Triple C' stated:
"Honestly, I think if Bo Nickal's healthy, put him in there. I think Bo's the type of guy that will go in there and pull the upset. You know, styles makes fights and I think his wrestling is great... I wouldn't mind seeing Khamzat step up. He's talking about needing a challenge and nobody wants to fight him, there you have it."
