Bo Nickal last entered the octagon at UFC 309 as he defeated Paul Craig via unanimous decision, marking the first time throughout his MMA career he has not finished his opponent. The rising middleweight prospect recently weighed in on a potential clash with Sharaputdin Magomedov, claiming that it would be an easy matchup, but he doesn't believe the fight will be booked.
Speaking to Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo during a recent appearance on the Pound 4 Pound podcast, the former NCAA wrestling champion stated:
"They wouldn't match it up. It would be an easy fight, but for me, there's no problem in that fight, but let's talk about it realistically... The thing about where we're at is these guys are the best fighters in the world and I think people - the UFC puts on 50 shows a year and they get to see these guys week in, week out and maybe they get a little desensitized to how good these guys are at fighting."
Nickal added:

"You see something every weekend and all of a sudden it just becomes normal when a lot of these guys are putting 10, 20 years into their craft so any guy in the top-15, from 15 to 10, is a tough fight. There's nobody that's in the UFC that isn't good."

Nickal claimed any fighter ranked between tenth and 15th poses an interesting matchup. Moreover, he has only been fighting mixed martial arts professionally for two years, yet believing his trajectory is very high. While the 28-year-old is interested in facing a ranked opponent next, it is unlikely that the UFC will pit him against Magomedov as both are undefeated prospects the promotion is building up.
Bo Nickal on Khamzat Chimaev call outs
Bo Nickal has expressed his desire to face Khamzat Chimaev, despite most middleweights avoiding calling out 'Borz'. He shared the reasoning behind this during a recent appearance on the Pound 4 Pound podcast.
Speaking to hosts Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo, the rising middleweight prospect stated:
"My goal has always been to be UFC champion, pound-for-pound No.1 fighter in the world and so when I call out guys like Khamzat, that's because I think that he's really good and I want to fight the best guys... I think people now are saying, 'oh, Bo, he can't wrestle, this or that'. Bro, trust me, I could wrestle."

Nickal claimed that if he was put in the world championships or Olympics, he's confident he would emerge victorious despite not having had any wrestling matches in four years. The 28-year-old noted that, despite criticism of his performance against Paul Craig, he was happy with his efforts, as he could dominate a veteran without using his wrestling.
